All objects in DISE Composer can be rotated to any desired angle. Either statically angled or as a movement. This tutorial will show you three ways to set the angle of an object. Which is either by specifying the angle by using the Rotate tool, in Object Properties or by giving the object an animated Rotation
Step 1 - Start the DISE Composer application.
Step 2 - Create an object. Here I have created and selected an Text Object. The object is surrounded by a "rubber band" (box with dashed lines) that enable you to freely change the size of the object.
Step 3 - To be able to freely change the angle of the object you either select the Rotate tool icon or double click on the selected object. When this step is complete the "rubber band" handles will change to the rotation handles.
Step 4 - To rotate the object, press the left mouse button on any of the corners and drag the object to your desired angle.
Step 5 - Another way of changing the angle of an object is to go to Object Properties > Position and size.
Step 6 - Then click on the Angle field and enter a value that you want to use in degrees OR press the up/down buttons that are located beside. You can change the location of the Rotation center in the Position and size menu as well.
Rotation Animation
This type of rotation is in effect during the whole lifespan of the object set in the scene. To open this function, right-click on the object and select Rotation.
Now configure the different types of rotation to fit your preference.
The different types that control the rotation are:
Speed
Set a (constant) speed and direction of the rotation. The more to the right the bar is, the faster the rotation will be.
Degrees
Set a value in degrees that the object must rotate during its lifespan. An entire lap is 360 degrees. Enter a negative value to rotate counter-clockwise.
Time
Set a rotation based on the clock time. Select if you want the object to rotate for example a second, minute or an hour. The rotation can be "smooth" or "tick", in which case the object will rotate only on whole seconds, minutes or hours. The second hand can "bounce" giving a slight mechanical appearance. For the time rotation there is a list of time zones. Setting a time zone will adjust the rotation accordingly.
Data connection
Using a data connection, the angle changes dynamically as the data connection changes. The text file referenced by the data connection must contain angles defined in radians.
Rotation center
Rotation take place around a point called the rotation center. The rotation center is unique to each object and can be moved around by clicking and dragging the small circle with an x symbol while in rotation mode.
The rotation center may even be a point outside the bounds of the object.
Any object can be rotated, even Video Objects which means that you can create interesting scene layouts. At play back all your objects will be rendered in real time complete with Effects and other altered appearances.
