Firmware upgrade

Before setting up Lite, please make sure that the device has a recent firmware! Contact support for more information.

Installation

To install Lite on the Samsung SSP, please

  1. Connect Ethernet cable.
  2. Connect power supply.

  3. Start the screen and go through the initial setup guide.
The most important settings are to change Auto Power Off to "Off (recommended)".

  4. Select URL Launcher

  5. Type in the URL to the player software.
This is one of the following:

  6. If the screen is in portrait mode, please add /portrait to the end of the URL (for example, http://go.dise.tv/portrait)
  7. Click URL Launcher to start the player.

  8. After a little while, a 6-digit code, a discovery code, will be presented on the screen.

This code is unique to the player. Make a note of it or take a photo because we will need it in the next step, which is in DISE CX Portal.
  9. Log in to Portal and select the Players tab.
  10. Click Add to create a new player.
  11. In the dialog appearing, enter a name, the 6-digit discovery code, and click Save.
If you have already created a content playlist you want to play on the screen you may also specify it here - otherwise you can configure this later.
  12. You will notice that the player software on the screen will subsequently receive the settings, register with CX Portal and download some content.

Offline server registration

In the case when the screen does not have internet access, replace steps 8-12 with these:

  • Since the manual registration in CX Portal doesn't work with SSSP screens we can do the registration using a USB drive.
  • Please download the attached sssp_USB_config.zip file and extract to a temporary folder.
  • Use the create_sssp_config.bat file to create the files directly on the USB memory or rename the files according to your requirements and copy those to the USB drive. If you use the .bat file, make sure all the files were created correctly on the drive after it is done.
  • We recommend that you create a temporary admin user for the setup procedure that you can remove later.
  • Start the screen.
  • To see log of the screen press the INFO button on the remote.
  • When you see the discovery code, insert the USB drive with the files.
  • Within a couple of seconds the screen reads the contents of the USB drive and from this get the details to connect to CX Portal.
  • If there is an error, please review the files on the USB to see that the details is correct and then using the remote press "Clear settings" button to reset the screen. Then start again by inserting the USB drive.
  • The player will register in CX Portal by the name specified by the dise_discovery_name_PLAYERNAME file.
  • Log in to CX Portal, locate the player, then set a new playlist by going into it, click Edit, then select a new playlist.
