Use transitions for creating smooth progressions between scenes or bring objects nicely in and out. Transitions include fades and other more effects.
Scene Transitions
Transitions are overlayed across the two scenes it's connected to so the out transition for one scene is the same as the in transition for the next scene.
- Right-click the scene.
- Select Scene Properties or go to the Movie tab and select Scene Properties.
- Click the Add button and enter the transition's length in the Timing field.
Object Transitions
Objects do not transition into one another like scenes, instead, the transition is between not being visible and being visible.
- Select an object.
- Open the 'General' tab under the 'Object Properties' menu.
- Set the transition times.
- Click the 'Transition Button' to manage more advanced settings in the 'Alpha transition' properties window.
In the timeline, objects transitions can be displayed and edited. Expand the object by clicking the small arrow to the left. Change the transitions' length by dragging.
Transition menu
- Load - Load a previously saved transition preset.
- Save - Save the current settings as a transition preset.
- Duration - Duration of the entire transition.
- Smoothness - The higher the value, the sharper the transition's "edges" are.
