The Streaming object can be used to stream from a variety of different sources. The Streaming Object supports lots of different streaming protocols but UDP is recommended.
In the Objects tab, double-click on the streaming icon or click it and drag into the edit area. This will bring up the Streaming properties.
General
General settings tab: 🔎︎
- URL - Address to stream output.
- Render with fixed size - Lock the stream resolution to a certain size.
- Connect data - Read the streaming properties from an external text file or variable.
- At end of scene -Control what the stream feed does at the end of the scene.
- Keep playing stream in background.
- Pause the stream until next loop.
- Stop the stream.
- Keep last frame of video - When stream ends the last frame of the broadcast will be shown.
- Disable audio.
- Restart on stream end.
- Make object transparent if loading fails.
- Command line options - Option to pass extra commands to the VLC engine.
Usage
Premium comes with a built in streaming plugin, based on the VLC media player. This allows Premium players to receive streams sent with a multitude of protocols and formats.
Dise Movies containing streams cannot be created / previewed in Portal.
