V4.2

New Features

Nexmosphere sensors now supported on Tizen 7.0+

Nexmosphere sensors can now be directly connected to Samsung screens running the TEP version of the Dise Player. You can utilize any Nexmosphere apps from the Dise App Library or develop custom integrations using the Dise Template SDK. The TEP implementation is fully compatible with the existing COM Port API in the TypeScript Framework.

BrightSign multi-display support and custom resolutions

The BrightSign Partner Packet version of the Dise Player now supports multi-display configurations and custom screen resolutions. To set up multiple displays, use the following Custom Settings: One.DisplayMode, One.Display, and One.Flipped.

To configure non-standard resolutions, create a BrightSign modeline as described in the BrightSign documentation. Insert your modeline into the One.Display custom setting, replacing the standard "width X height" string. For example, instead of 1920x1080,,,0, set One.Display to:

Modeline 3440x1440R 319.75 3440 3488 3520 3600 1440 1443 1453 1481 +hsync -vsync,,,0

To rotate the screen, use the last parameter after the three commas. Possible values are: 0 = no rotation, 1 = 90 degrees, 2 = 180 degrees, and 3 = 270 degrees clockwise.

Log Viewer support on Tizen devices

You can now access the log viewer directly from the Control Center on Tizen devices. Use the remote control to navigate to the Log tab.

Additional watchdog on Windows

The Windows version now includes the same watchdog feature as the Linux version. This enhancement detects and recovers from any crashes within the Chromium engine itself.

Brush.svg Improvements

Enhanced logging for Software Add-On Packages

The Dise Player now reports a comprehensive list of installed software add-on packages.

Remote control lock on Android devices

The Dise Player no longer unlocks remote control access during startup.

Power saving on Sony and Philips Android devices

Brightness is reduced to zero outside operating hours and restored to its previous level when entering operating hours. This feature conserves energy without completely turning off the device.

Shuffle mode randomization

When playing sub-playlists in Shuffle mode, the playback order is re-randomized with each loop.

Bug.svg Bug fixes

  • Nested sub-playlist playback options (Play All or Play N items) are now functioning correctly.

  • Playout no longer stalls when all items in a Share of Voice sub-playlist reject playout.

  • Pre-loading functions properly even when a single item in a playlist rejects playout.

  • Proof of play data is retained when a device reboots while offline.

  • BrightSign players now download content immediately after pairing.

Hand.svg Known issues

  • Time zone and date & time settings configured in the portal doesn't work on Windows.

  • Limited time zone options that work on Tizen.

  • Uninstalling and reinstalling the Tizen app will not clear existing settings, and the player will continue functioning with the previous configuration. Updating works as expected, and performing a factory reset will still clear all settings.

  • Some error messages are incorrectly shown as notice level errors.

  • The Dise Control Center cannot be opened on BrightSign devices.

  • Sony Android and Philips Android players can't be updated via release channels, please contact Dise Support for assistance.

  • When installing on Philips Android, error code 0/1 can occasionally be seen during installation, which can be ignored.
