Object Order
When objects overlap, the object order can be changed to Bring to front, Send to back, Bring forward or Send backward. This can be found in Home tab -> Arrange -> Order objects or with the quick select buttons shown below:
Use Object as Background
Set an object as a background by right clicking on an object in the canvas and select 'Use Object As Background'. A quick function for this is available from the menu bar:🔎︎
The selected object will lock to the full canvas size and will be the bottom-most object.
Timeline
- Hide objects in the timeline by clicking the eye icon next to the object in the timeline.
- The order of objects is shown in the timeline view - the object furthest back is topmost in the timeline view:
Align objects
There are 8 options on the menu bar to align objects:
The fill area buttoncan be used to adjust the objects position, width and height to fill the full canvas area. If several objects are selected, they will all be expanded to fit the screen.
Shift and Ctrl keys can be used with the fill area button:
- With Shift: If one object is selected, the object will be centered to the middle of the screen. If more than one object is selected, the objects will be centered within the selection.
- With Ctrl: Will adjust all the selected objects to the screen width. The height of the objects and the vertical position is left unchanged.
- With Ctrl and Shift: Will adjust all the selected objects to the screen height. The width of the objects and the horizontal position is left unchanged.
Align objects to left, top, bottom or right. If one object is selected, these four buttons will align the object to the nearest guideline, or to the border of the screen. If more than one object is selected, then the buttons will align the selected objects to one side of the selection.
- With Shift: Instead of aligning the object(s) to one side by moving them, the object is aligned by stretching them to the selected side.
Center objects to center , horizontal center or vertical center using the buttons.
