BrightSign

BrightSign recommend using the web version of BrightAuthor:connected. Installation instructions may differ for the desktop app version.

Installation

There are two options available through BrightSign to install a player:

• BrightAuthor:connected: Free Software, included at no extra cost with every BrightSign player. Set up, create presentations, and access BSN.Cloud services.

• bsn.Content: Unlock the full content and scheduling capabilities of BSN.Cloud with a paid subscription.

BrightAuthor:connected

1. Provision the player in BrigthAuthor:connected - https://docs.brightsign.biz/player-quickstart

2. Install the latest or a version specific Dise Player:

   1. Use the App URL installation to install a version specific Dise Player:
      

   2. The Dise Player ZIP file can be manually extracted to the root of the BrightSign player’s SD card.

bsn.Content

1. Download the Dise BrightSign ZIP file.

2. Extract the 'dise-player.zip' and 'dise-player.brs' files.

3. Open and log in to BrightAuthor:connected.

4. Select the 'Content' drop down menu:

   1. Select 'Upload Script' under 'New Component'.

   2. Upload the 'dise-player.brs' file.

5. Select the 'Content' drop down menu:

   1. Select 'Upload New Media'.

   2. Upload the 'dise-player.zip' file.

6. Navigate to the 'Presentation' library.

7. Create or open a presentation.

8. Open the 'Layout' settings.

9. Select 'Support content' under 'Presentation Settings':

   1. Click the '+' next to 'Files'.

   2. Select the 'dise-player.zip' file, ensuring the file is named exactly 'dise-player.zip'.

   3. Click the '+' next to 'Script Plugin'.

   4. Select the 'dise-player.brs' file, ensuring the file is named exactly 'dise-player.brs'.

   5. Change the 'Script plugin name' to 'DisePlayer'.

   6. Ensure the above files are the only ones under 'Support Content'.

10. Select 'Presentation' under 'Presentation Settings':

    1. Enable 'Force Resolution'.

    2. Enable 'Full Resolution Graphics'

11. Ensure the correct resolution is set under 'Properties'.

12. Open the 'Content' settings.

13. Toggle 'Interactive' on.

14. Drag 'Event Handler' under 'Widgets' into the main area.

15. Publish the presentation.

Post-installation

1. A Dise pairing code will show once installation is successful.

2. Create a Display in the CX portal.

Orientation & Resolution Settings

Orientation and resolution settings need to be changed in the .brs file included in the Dise BrightSign ZIP file.

An example dise-player-portrait.brs file for portrait settings is included in the ZIP file.
