New Features
Philips Android
We've expanded our platform compatibility with full support for Philips Android D-Line displays, ensuring seamless integration and enhanced flexibility.
The Dise Control Center can be opened and closed by pressing 'Info' button on the remote control.
Open the android menu by pressing F1 + F1 + Enter.
Debugging can be done via adb (Android Debug Bridge). Please contact Dise Support for more information and assistance.
Sony Android
We've extended our platform support to include Sony Android BZ Series displays, making deployment easier and more versatile than ever.
The Dise Control Center can be opened and closed by pressing 'Info' button on the remote control.
Debugging can be done via adb (Android Debug Bridge). Please contact Dise Support for more information and assistance.
Tizen 8
We've now expanded our Tizen support to include Tizen 8 displays.
Tizen TEP
We've replaced legacy Samsung B2B APIs with new future-proof Tizen Enterprise Platfrom (TEP) APIs, on Tizen 6.5+ devices. This update enhances performance, future-proofs support, and aligns with the latest Tizen ecosystem standards.
We've introduced dynamic version detection to automatically select the correct API—TEP for Tizen 6.5+ and B2B for earlier versions—ensuring seamless compatibility and performance.
Updated APIs for:
System control
TV audio control
Timer operations (time zone)
New API for Real-Time Analytics
New functionality to support real-time analytics distribution to templates. Track three event types:
Start: Content or template instance begins playback.
End: Playback finishes or errors out, with actual on-screen duration recorded.
Data: A data item in a data layer is imported.
Check out the Analytics Sample Template for live data visualization in a semi-transparent overlay—perfect for testing!
Improvements
OnTemplateUpdate
We've introduced OnTemplateUpdate to help long-running or "re-use" templates detect updates from the CMS. This ensures templates can preserve state and seamlessly reload the next instance when changes occur.
MQTT Sync
MQTT synchronization is now supported through a 'ws' connection, offering more flexible connectivity.
Tag Attributes
Tags are now provided as a separate static attribute for easier use and implementation within templates
Orientation Attribute
The display orientation is now accessible as a static attribute (static.dise.DisplayOrientation). For square screens, the orientation will default to landscape.
Pairing Codes Now Use HTTPS by Default
All requests to the pairing code servers will now consistently use HTTPS, ensuring secure communication across all platforms.
BrightSign Hardware Info
We've enhanced and expanded hardware information for BrightSign devices, including proper parsing of network IPs—resolving issues that affected content playback in portrait mode.
Control Center System Info
Image version, disk, and memory information-previously missing on some platforms—are now correctly reported and available.
Windows Installer Versioning
The Windows Dise One MSI file now displays its version number in the file properties, making it easier to track and manage installations.
Improved Logging & Error Handling
We've implemented several fixes to ensure more accurate and reliable logging across all player platforms, reducing incorrect or broken log entries.
Fixes
Fixed issues related to playout causing shuffle functionality to not work as expected.
Solved an issue in correctly handling templateEnding sent from the template framework.
To address reliability issues with SuperSocket on Windows, we've implemented a workaround by maintaining our own list of WebSocket sessions instead of relying on .GetSessions. This ensures more stable session handling.
Resolved an issue where using the info button on Tizen to open the Dise Control Center would result in a blank screen when returning to playback. Playback now resumes as expected.
Tizen now correctly supports Unicode encoding when saving config files to disk. This resolves exceptions and potential startup lockups, for example when using Japanese characters in Site, Zone, or Tag names.
Known Issues
Philips Android screens can occasionally get stuck on ‘No signal’ when manually rebooting from the CX Portal.
Time zone and date & time settings configured in the portal doesn't work on Windows.
Limited time zone options that work on Tizen.
Uninstalling and reinstalling the Tizen app will not clear existing settings, and the player will continue functioning with the previous configuration. Updating works as expected, and performing a factory reset will still clear all settings.
Some error messages are incorrectly shown as notice level errors.
The Dise Control Center cannot be opened on BrightSign devices.
Windows 11, ChromeOS, Sony Android and Philips Android players can't be updated via release channels, please contact Dise Support for assistance.
When installing on Philips Android, error code 0/1 can occasionally be seen during installation, which can be ignored.
On Philips Android, transitions between content is not always fully gapless. This is caused when there is low hardware performance resource available.
On Philips and Sony Android, UHD content requires more hardware performance resource meaning video frame rate and general playout performance can be impacted.
Some Tizen TEP APIs for specific privileges functionalities are unavailable at the public level, e.g. http://tizen.org/privilege/tv.audio.
