Release Channels

A release channel facilitates the simultaneous remote update of numerous players by deploying a new Dise player version. Players can be configured to subscribe to a release channel, ensuring that when the partner updates the Dise version for that release channel, all subscribing players will automatically download and install the latest version.

Add-on software can be assigned to a release channel to install 3rd party apps and Dise apps external to the player.


Assigning a release channel to a player

  1. As a brand admin, access the 'Players' module.admin_players🔎︎
  2. Choose the relevant player.
  3. Navigate to the player's edit view.
  4. Select an available release channel.
  5. Enable automatic updates to utilize the selected release channel:

To discontinue automatic updates for a player from a release channel, simply disable it. Switching to a different release channel is also an available option.


Creating a release channel (only available for partners)

  1. Utilizing your partner role, go to the 'Release Channels' module🔎︎ 
  2. Create a new release channel or update an existing one.
  3. Assign a name to the release channel.
  4. Specify the platform and select a corresponding software package and optional add-on package.
  5. Choose whether the release channel should be accessible for all brands or specific ones:

The availability of the Dise player and add-on software for a particular platform is managed by Dise support. If you require a specific Dise player version or add-on software, contact support@dise.com or your Dise Key Partner Manager.
