Screen Control


Article summary

Screen control can be used to control a screen that’s connected to an external media player via RS232 into standby. Screen control will:

Enable screen control

  1. Navigate to 'Displays' in the left menu:  displays_menu🔎︎

  2. Select a display.

  3. Click 'Edit' in the top right.

  4. Add settings under ‘Screen control settings’ (double click in the text field for suggested entry:

    1. Name - Set a name for the screen control, commonly the COM port used for the RS232 connection.

    2. Manufacturer (optional) - The manufacturer of the screen.

    3. Model (optional) - The model of screen.

    4. Screen id (optional) - The id of the screen when multiple screens are connected.

    5. Baudrate (optional) - Set the baudrate of the serial connection.

    6. Input (optional) - Set the input of the player is connected to the screen with. This will force the screen to only show on the desired input.

  5. Use the ‘+’ button to add screen control for a second screen connection.

  6. Click ‘Save’:
