Content is time locked to the end of a scene by default. Objects can be unlocked in order to create templates with dynamic content lengths and set content to start or end relative to other objects.
Timeline
Time locked objects are shown in the timeline with a dotted line at the end of the object time bar:🔎︎
A time locked object will automatically change on the timeline if the times of a linked object is changed.
The duration of a time locked object can't be changed manually.
Set Time Locks
Time locks can be added within 'Object Properties':🔎︎
Lock an object's start/stop time to:
- Start of scene.
- Stop of scene.
- Start of another object.
- Stop of another object.
- Offset the start/stop time by a specified amount
- Absolute offset - Specify a fixed time
- Relative - Specify a percentage of the object's duration.
Ensure an object's start time isn't locked to a time after its own end.
Ensure objects aren't locked to each other in an endless loop.
Unlocking
Remove all time locks on an object:
- Select an object.
- Click Lock -> Time -> Unlock time of selected objects:
