New Features
Dashboard
The dashboard provides a clear overview of display statuses. The main pie chart shows the total distribution of statuses, and clicking a segment takes you to the display list with the corresponding filter applied.
Player service bars visualize counts by status. You can toggle between Error (showing only warnings and errors) and All (showing OK, warning, error, and unpaired). Each status bar ensures visibility by maintaining a minimum width, even with large display counts. If a status has no entries, its color is hidden. While service override statuses appear in the pie chart, the bars always reflect the true state of each display.
Operating hours are also highlighted: Inside includes displays currently within their active schedule or without defined hours, while Outside shows displays scheduled to be inactive.
Display List
We’ve expanded the available statuses to give a more detailed view of each display. The overall Main Status summarizes the Player, Screen, and Content statuses by showing the overall current state (e.g., if the player is Normal but the screen is in Error, the main status will show Error).
Player Status: Shows a warning if no heartbeat is received for 5 minutes, escalating to error after a further 5 minutes.
Screen Status: Displays warnings or errors related to the screen. If RS232 is used, additional details and statuses are available. When the player status is warning or error, the screen status is dimmed and shows the last known state.
Content Status: Indicates playback-related warnings or errors, such as corrupted content or playback window failures. Like the screen status, it is dimmed if the player status is warning or error.
Operating Hours Status: Shows whether a display is currently within its scheduled active hours. This too is dimmed if the player status is warning or error.
For quick navigation, the display list includes a status filter at the top with counters showing how many displays are in each status.
Status Override
You can now manually override a player’s status with either “Service” or “Disconnected”. An optional end date can be set, once that date is passed the override will be disabled. This is useful, for example, when a display is under investigation, temporarily disconnected due to relocation, or unavailable during a store refurbishment.
While an override is active, it will appear as the display’s main status, but the underlying player, screen, and content statuses will still be monitored and shown.
Status Service API
The new display statuses are powered by our Status Service, which now comes with a dedicated API. This API provides full access to status information and is designed to make integrations easier and more powerful.
Display Detail
The display details page has been redesigned to include the new status indicator and information. It now also shows the current day’s active operating hours, providing clearer insight into each display’s activity and state.
Improvements
Template and Message Thumbnails
Templates can now include an icon and a thumbnail image file. These will be displayed in the Portal in place of automatically generated preview thumbnails, while the full template preview remains available as before.
View Customization
All views now support collapsible columns (except for the name column). You can customize which columns are visible in each view, and your selections will be saved for the next time you log in
Admin View
Several UI enhancements have been introduced to streamline the admin experience. The data handling process for users, triggers, and tags has been improved with updated fetch and storage logic to increase loading speeds.
Search
Search functionality has been enhanced to deliver more accurate and relevant results. Improvements include better filtering, such as the report content filter, making it easier to generate reports based on keywords.
Fixes
Fixed an issue when deleting auto-generated playlists which would cause the placeholder to be removed from the channel.
Playback statistic reports now show the brand name as the exported title.
Known Issues
View customization isn't available for the admin Trigger view.
When the content filter is used the keywords don't show on the report.
